What is the Donate & Learn?
The Donate & Learn Initiative was created by Green Lotus to support local Toronto charities and provide informative workshops with a focus on social media, online marketing strategies, and the tools needed to achieve online marketing goals!
So far, the Donate & Learn Initiative has raised over than $17,000 for the YWCA and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Toronto. The new goal is to raise $12,000 for Project Pathway.
Who would have thought that the simple idea of supporting a great local charities by providing marketing tips would gain the support of 1,000 Torontonians & raise more than $17,000 donations … in just one year!

Dec 4, 2012 Donate & Learn Workshop
The inaugural Donate & Learn Workshop was a success on all accounts, and only a taste of what was to come!
With over 220 people in attendance, and the auditorium filled to capacity, the event raised close to $4000 for the YWCA Toronto Adopt-a-Family Program, and adopted 20 women-led families over the holiday season.
Keynote Speakers discussed strategic social media planning, management, search engine marketing benefits of a social media plan, and also provided industry best practices to best manage a business social media plan, improve social engagement, lead generation, and return on investment.
Dec 4, 2014 Donate & Learn Expo – First Anniversary Event!
At the 1st Anniversary of the Donate & Learn it was clear that the initiative had taken on momentum and rapidly growing!
Moving to a larger venue at Ryerson University the event doubled in capacity and raised over $9000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Toronto Go Girls! and Game On! Group mentoring programs. Changing Young Lives Changes our Communities!
Attendees of the GoDaddy Website Builder Pre-event Workshop were able to build and launch a functional, responsive and SEO ready website in under 1 hour!
Keynote Speakers, including experts from Bing Canada and GoDaddy, provided industry insights on business leads, sales and effectively managing an online marketing budget! Speakers provided tips on how to successfully market a business by developing an integrated search engine and social media strategy.
May 28, 2013 Donate & Learn Workshop
Supporting the YWCA Toronto Girls’ Center, the Donate & Learn Workshop again exceeded all expectations! Over $4000 was raised and the auditorium again filled to capacity with standing room only.
Leading Online Marketing Experts spoke about social media marketing, search engine marketing, SEO and finding a balance in your online marketing strategy. Keynote Speakers provided industry best practices to better manage online business marketing strategies, improve brand awareness and return on investment.
