How to Execute Big Ideas with Branding Expert at Proctor & Gamble

At the recent Donate & Learn Expo, Maria Shibaeva – Sr. Assistant Brand Manager at Procter & Gamble presented case studies to illustrate how to create and execute BIG IDEAS – whether in Social Media, or in anything else you do as an entrepreneur or business owner.
“A Big Idea is true to your business,” said Shibaeva. It is also:

  • Disruptive to the market
  • Heart & mind opening
  • Immediately understood
  • Recognizable
  • Easy to execute
In front of over 500 of Toronto’s top entrepreneurs, business owners and marketing specialists at the June 10 Donate & Learn Expo, Shibaeva shared a number of successful campaigns. Here are two of our favourites:

Big Idea Example #1: “Thank You Mom”

  • Background: 10 year partnership between P&G and the Olympic Games.
  • Objective: How do we bring our partnership to life and build the business… BUT stay true to our equity… P&G is NOT in the business of sports… We’re in the business of MOMS…
  • Solution:
  • Result: OUTSTANDING!
Big Idea Example #2: Freecycle.org

  • Background: There are many extremely popular ways of buying/selling stuff online (eBay, Kijiji, Craigslist, etc…).
  • Objective: How do we use this digital selling movement to further our planet’s need for recycling and environmental responsibility?
  • Solution: freecycle.org a grassroots and entirely non-profit movement of people who are giving (and getting) stuff for free in their own towns. It’s all about reuse and keeping good stuff out of landfills.
  • Result: 7,445,716 people have recycled!

First things first, what is SEO for General Contractors? SEO refers to the practice of enhancing a website and its content such that it appears higher in search engine rankings. And why is it important? Because having a strong SEO strategy can significantly improve your online visibility, increase website traffic, and ultimately lead to more business opportunities. So, let's dive into the world of SEO for general contractors! Increased Online Visibility with SEO for General Contractors With the majority of people turning to the internet to find services they need, it's important for general contractors to be easily found by potential clients searching for construction services online. SEO for General Contractors is the practice of optimizing your website and online content to improve its ranking on search engines like Google. By ranking higher in search engine results, your website will receive more visibility and attract more potential leads. Let's take a closer look at how SEO can help general contractors: Keyword Research: The first step in SEO for General Contractors is conducting keyword research to identify your industry's most relevant and frequently searched terms. As a general contractor, this may include keywords like "home remodeling," "roof repair," or "construction services." On-page Optimization: Once you've identified your keywords, you can optimize your website content and metadata to include those keywords in strategic places. This includes your page titles, headers, body text, and image alt tags. Off-page Optimization: In addition to on-page optimization, off-page optimization refers to external factors that can impact your website's ranking, such as backlinks from other reputable websites. Increased Website Traffic: As your website starts ranking higher in search engine results, you'll naturally attract more traffic to your website. This is because potential clients are more likely to click on the top results in their search query. Potential Leads: With increased website traffic, you'll also have the opportunity to convert those visitors into potential leads. By providing helpful information on your website, showcasing your work through images and videos, and having clear calls to action, you can encourage visitors to contact you for their construction needs.
